Infrastructure
With unprecedented growth in North Alabama, Marilyn understands we are all spending more time stuck in traffic and less time with our families. That is why she is committed to fighting for infrastructure funding to improve road conditions and reduce traffic congestion so that our community continues to be one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family.
Affordability
Marilyn knows families are struggling with rising costs of everyday life - from utilities and groceries to healthcare premiums and housing. She supports repealing the state grocery tax, investing in affordable housing, and raising wages for hardworking Alabamians.
Healthcare
Marilyn believes no one should have to choose between their health and their finances. During her first term alone, she expanded access to life-saving prenatal care for mothers. That is why she will continue to fight and deliver real results for Alabamians.

DISTRICT MAP
Alabama must repeal its blanket ban on abortion, and focus on improving its broken healthcare system.
Pregnancy is a nuanced and complex medical situation. Having a child can carry a number of risks to the mother, and our Legislature's no-exceptions abortion ban is making Alabama an unsafe place to start a family. When women are forced to carry non-viable pregnancies to term, the risk of serious medical complications skyrockets. When victims of unspeakable crimes are not allowed to regain control of their bodies, they can face life-long and devastating psychological consequences.
Rather than making it more difficult for people to get the treatment that is right for them, Marilyn believes we need to focus on improving outcomes in our healthcare system. Marilyn's background in community mental health has helped her understand disparities in coverage. Too many Alabamians lack health insurance, jeopardizing their wellbeing and raising healthcare costs across the board. Changing the way we address healthcare can help us build a better Alabama.
Marilyn supports:
- Repealing Alabama’s no-exceptions abortion ban.
- Expanding Medicaid to bring in millions of dollars into Alabama’s economy and give working families more healthcare options.
- Investing in community mental health resources.

We need to build on our economic growth and provide opportunities for all residents.
Marilyn’s background in business and community development provide her with a solid foundation to understand economic issues. She believes we can build a better Alabama by attracting jobs, raising wages, and keeping our cost of living down.
Marilyn supports:
- Fully eliminating our state's regressive tax on groceries.
- Supporting the construction of affordable housing.
- Cutting red tape for small businesses.
- Recruiting new companies to the district, creating new jobs and economic growth for our people.
- Building a school-to-work pipeline, so that people in our own backyard will reap the benefits of the twenty-first century economy.
- Combatting the current labor shortage by working to improve our state’s image and bring more people here to fill jobs.
- Investing in affordable housing.
We must invest in our local infrastructure.
Marilyn’s family are products of local public education systems. She believes we owe it to our children to provide them with an education that positions them for success. As your representative in Montgomery, Marilyn will promote a world class education for all of our students.
Marilyn supports:
- Giving growing districts like ours the resources they need to build new schools and offices to keep up with incoming residents.
- Safeguarding and expanding Alabama’s world class pre-kindergarten program.
- Ensuring that every child attends kindergarten.
- Support home rule, because what works for one district may not be the right fit for another.
- Working with local employers to re-engineer the way we engage in workforce development.
- Making certain that districts have the funding they need to support special needs students.
