Alabama's Extreme Forced Birth Law

NO EXCEPTIONS FOR RAPE OR INCEST

In 2019, the legislature passed a near total ban on abortions in Alabama, forcing victims of rape and incest to carry their attacker's baby. The law remains among the most extreme in the nation. As a result of this law, North Alabamians who get pregnant as a result of rape or incest will have to travel hundreds of miles if they choose to get an abortion.

Real Consequences

"As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I’ve worked with victims of unspeakable crimes. Forcing women who have been raped to give birth to their attacker’s child has life-long physical and psychological consequences. As your legislator, I will work tirelessly to make certain that victims of these horrific acts of violence have the right to make this decision for themselves."
